I think this is unlikely to be kept up well.

However, I will note here that the bread was surprisngly good, despite the quantity of fail that went into its making.

I had a job interview on Tuesday, which went well (I hope) but has left me with a longing for the job. Not good, as they are interviewing a lot of potentials, so I won't know for at least two weeks...

Well, it's as good a place to start as any. This morning I come downstairs to discover my mum has left me a note asking me to make bread dough before she comes back from work. Easy enough, thinks I.

And it is, up until the point when I realise you're meant to dissolve the salt and honey into the water before adding into the giant mess of flour in the other bowl. Cue a certain amount of worrying, frantic stirring of the bread, and a resolution to knead it for an extra five minutes. Kneading bread is a supremely therapeutic exercise - I heartily recommend it. However, expect your watch-strap to get covered in flour, if you don't take it off. Plus, you can let your mind wander while you're doing it, which I find is easier than sitting daydreaming...

The bread is kneaded and looks vaguely uniform. Hopefully the salt will have spread through, as unsalted bread is absolutely horrendous (been there, done that, in KTM). It then has to go into a "lightly oiled bowl". Cue *far* too much oil going in the bowl. The bread goes in the bowl, becomes far too oily, and comes out again for more kneading in more flour. It goes back in the bowl a few minutes later, looking substantially less oily but ever-so-slightly green. Now it has to rise, which hopefully it will manage to do.

All in all, an interesting morning. An update will follow on the bread once my mum gets back and cooks it. I expect it to have a rather oily texture....

On other news, the genius of a GM I work with for the online game I run has decided to be his usual obstinate self. I have settled on a new tactic for dealing with him; namely, ignoring him completely. I doubt this is a good idea, but he will have to live with it.
